Ionian islands – Corfu island/Gouvia
The Ionian Islands located on the western side of mainland Greece, are seven main islands. The weather conditions in the area are exceptionally favourable for a relaxing sailing and highly recommended for family trips, thanks to the mild weather condition during the summer period.
Corfu Marina in Gouvia is situated about 6 kilometres from the town of Corfu and 7 kilometres from the International Airport where frequent domestic and charter flights arrive directly from European countries. When entering the bay of Gouvia, keep to the north side to avoid the shallows.
Ionian islands
Being that these islands are outside of the area where the Meltemi blows, it can get very hot in summer. The lasting period of sunshine in the Ionian Islands is excellent in late spring and during summer, when clear skies prevail. The temperature of the sea in the area of the Ionian Islands is high enough for swimming from July to September. In June, it is still a little bit cool.

Ionian islands – Lefkada island marina
Lefkas Island can be reached by plane, car or bus. The Aktion airport near Preveza on the mainland is about 20 minutes away from Lefkada town. Plenty of international charter flights as well domestic flights from Athens are available.
